How to get there

Volos is about 3.5 hours drive (345Km) away from the Athens Airport and 2.5 hours (225Km) from the Thessaloniki Airport. Portaria is 12Km from Volos. Please find below basic travel information.

Through Athens (El. Venizelos Airport, ATH)

  • From El. Venizelos Airport to Volos by train with the Metro Line 3 from the Airport, stop at Syntagma Station, change to Metro Line 2 from Syntagma to Larisa Station and then the train from Larisa Railway Terminal to Volos.

NOTE: Must change trains in Larisa for Volos.

– Airport to Larisa Railway Terminal: approx. 1.5 hours

– Larisa Railway Terminal – Larisa Railway Station: approx. 3.5 hours

– Larisa Railway Station – Volos Railway Station: approx. 1 hour

  • From El. Venizelos Airport to Volos by bus, with the Bus Line X93 from the Airport to Liossion Bus Station.

– Airport – Liossion Bus Station: approx. 1 hour

– Liossion Bus Station – Volos Bus Station: approx. 4 hours

Through Thessaloniki (Makedonia Airport, SKG)

  • From Makedonia Airport to Volos by train, with the route bus No 78 (the bus departs every one hour and it is situated outside the Check-in Hall – info @ http://oasth.gr/) to the New Railway Station in the city of Thessaloniki. From there, with the train to Volos.

NOTE: Must change trains in Larisa.

– Thessaloniki New Railway Station – Larisa Railway Station: approx. 1.5 – 2 hours

– Larisa Railway Station – Volos Railway Station: approx. 1 hour

  • From Makedonia Airport to Volos by bus, with the route bus No 78 (the bus departs every one hour and it is situated outside the Check-in Hall – info @ http://oasth.gr/en/) to the Central Bus Station.
