Ko-Yang Wang

Dr. Ko-Yang Wang is an entrepreneur focusing on helping Taiwan develop its 1st FinTech Ecosystem.
He was an EVP for the Institute for Information Industry 2011-2015, and the head of Cloud System Software Research Institute 2013-2014. He was responsible for strategy, R&D, industry partnership, and business development.
Prior, he was a Partner & Practice Leader for BPM Practice, IBM Global Business Services(GBS), 2010-2011. In additional to founding the BPM Practice, He developed talents & delivery capabilities, managed business & technical vitality, created thought & asset leadership, manage sales and client relationship and served as the Delivery Partner.
He was elected IBM Distinguished Engineer(DE) in 2000. His roles included: Research & Innovation Executive for BTE, IBM Global Services; CTO for Industrial Sector、Enterprise Architecture、Enterprise Integration & BPM Practices for IBM GBS. He worked with clients in diff. industries and led >20 corporate strategic initiatives to help establish IBM’s leadership in KM, Sense & Respond, Real Time Event Handling, SOA for SAP/Oracle. In founding the Enterprise of the Future effort in 2002, Dr. Wang led a team of >80 IBM Fellows & DEs to develop 2-5 year vision & technology game changers. He helped IBM’s Greater China Group develop its C&SI Growth Strategy in 2005.

He was a Principal for KM at IBM Consulting Group,1997 to 1999 and a Research Staff Member and Team Leader at IBM Research, 1991-1996.

Dr. Wang has co-authored 8 patents and > 50 publications. He contributed to or led >10 IBM Academy studies, and became a member of IBM Academy in 2009. He mentored >30 people, 12 of whom become IBM Distinguished Engineers.
